Fee Increase for Foreign Residence Cards (Incl. Overseas Korean Residence Cards)

Effective January 1, 2025, Foreign Residence Cards will include an integrated IC chip to store the Personal Identification Number 

(currently required for issuing mobile Foreign Residence Cards) directly on the physical card.

As a result of this upgrade, the issuance fee for Foreign Residence Cards, including Permanent Residence Cards 

and Overseas Korean Residence Cards will increase starting January 1, 2025.

New issuance fee: 35,000 won (previously 30,000 won).

Existing Foreign Residence Cards will remain valid and do not need to be replaced unless required, such as in cases of expiration. 

However, if cardholders choose to reissue their card, the new fee will apply.
